[Roles and Responsibilities]

As the head of the department, Professor Qiu Lijuan is responsible for overseeing all administrative and academic affairs, including department promotion, future development planning, curriculum design, and faculty-student coordination. The primary duties include:

  1. Collaborating with colleagues to determine the department’s development direction and related initiatives.
  2. Presiding over departmental teaching and evaluation meetings, overseeing faculty recruitment and promotion, and encouraging faculty participation in professional development to enhance teaching quality.
  3. Planning and organizing course schedules, assigning faculty members, and managing student registration to ensure a well-structured learning environment.
  4. Selecting class advisors and serving as the chief advisor to address student concerns while fostering moral character, integrity, and democratic values.
  5. Communicating university policies, decisions, and regulations to facilitate the advancement of institutional affairs.
  6. Managing and allocating department funds efficiently to enhance facilities and resources.

[Roles and Responsibilities]

  (1) Academic Affairs
  1. Managing course applications, student registration, and course selection processes.
  2. Handling applications for oral examinations, first draft submissions, and final oral defenses for master's programs.
  3. Processing applications and issuing second special certificates.
  4. Handling student leave of absence and withdrawal procedures, as well as matters related to the master's program.
  (2) Research
  1. Managing faculty research projects and facilitating research-related awards and initiatives for faculty and students.
  2. Handling academic activities such as journal publications, departmental publications, seminars, and lectures.
  (3) Student Affairs and Counseling

Providing guidance and support for departmental student activities.

  (4)General administration
  1. Developing the department's annual work plan and long-term development strategy.
  2. Organizing regular departmental meetings on teaching evaluations, enrollment, and curriculum planning.
  3. Administering faculty-related matters, including appointment, promotion, leave applications, and further studies.
  4. Collaborating with administrative units to prepare reports, meeting documents, and evaluation materials.
  5. Reviewing and signing official department documents.
  6. Managing departmental budget requests, procurement, and financial oversight.
  7. Recording and maintaining the department’s memorabilia and significant events.
  8. Overseeing the management of department-specific classrooms and the departmental library.
