Differences and Similarities with Related Departments

The department engages in interdisciplinary integrative research in line with academic trends. With the recent boom in Taiwan’s tourism industry and the increasing demand for tour guides, the department aims to cultivate students’ abilities and competitiveness in tourism interpretation, cultural activity investigation, documentation, and planning.
The department emphasizes “localized” research, focusing on Tainan’s rich heritage, historical buildings, traditional crafts, folk activities, and natural ecology, conducting research and promotion of cultural assets and tourism resources.
